From the factory the 970 centre stack is a wall of keys around a small display, and that lower climate panel stays put while the unit above it is swapped for a fascia with its own key row and two rotary knobs.

Three screens do the work. The Android launcher holds settings and your own apps, CarPlay or Android Auto takes the whole panel the moment a phone connects, and the tuner gets a full-width radio page. The status bar keeps the clock, the 4G signal and your phone battery in view, which matters more than it sounds in traffic.
So what does it actually look like day to day? Hand the car to someone else and their phone drives the screen instead, with nothing to reconfigure first.
Four items are optional here and none of them change the fit: a DVR camera, DAB radio, an OBD2 reader and tyre pressure monitoring.
