OEM Control Panel - Renault Megane 3 and Fluence
Fit an Android screen into a Renault Megane 3 or a Fluence and the control panel below it goes quiet. The rotary ring stops answering, the preset keys do nothing useful, and a row of buttons you use on every trip turns into decoration. The L-031 puts that panel back to work behind the factory face, wired to the new screen instead of the radio that's come out.
The L-031 covers two Renaults, and the year windows are narrow: Megane 3 from 2008 to 2014, Fluence from 2013 to 2016. One part number, but the console underneath isn't the same moulding on both cars, so the version we ship needs to match the one in your dash.

So which version do you order? Pick the screen first, then the panel. I'd buy the head unit first, because the panel's chosen to pair with it, and a panel bought ahead of the screen is a guess. Send us the model year, the VIN and the unit you're fitting, and we'll match the panel version to the car, because the console under a 2008 car and the console under a 2014 car are not the same moulding.
Here's what catches owners out. On these two cars the radio and the lower button panel are two separate pieces of the dash, and the panel isn't a dumb switch block - it reports to the radio. Pull the radio out to make room for an Android screen and the panel loses the unit it's been talking to. Nothing's broken. There's nobody left for it to answer to, and the keys go dead in your hand.

Preset numbers, NAVI, BAND, SETUP, MAP and a dimmer key sit in the factory positions on the moulding. Nothing's migrated into a touchscreen submenu.

The face keeps the furniture your dash already wears: a phone key in the top corner, a blanked disc slot line running across the moulding, a rotary ring at the centre, and a two-row key bank below it. Keys are marked for NAVI, RADIO or BAND, MODE, SETUP and MAP, with track skip and a back key on the right-hand side and a dimmer key for night driving, which is the arrangement your hand already knows from the factory panel even if the radio it once reported to is long gone. The preset face shown on the product page adds a MIC opening and an IR window.

This is where orders go sideways. The panel isn't universal and it isn't always in the box - it depends on the head unit package you buy.

Because the panel reports to the radio. Take the radio out and the panel has nothing left to talk to, so the keys stop responding. Nothing's failed electrically.
